The beads become embedded in the paint, while part of each bead remains exposed above the paint surface. This exposed part allows the headlights of vehicles to enter the beads and reflect the light back toward the driver.
Therefore, in the Drop-on method, the timing of application, application rate, and the degree to which the beads are embedded in the paint are very important, as they directly affect the reflectivity and nighttime visibility of the road marking.
