Drop-on Glass Beads are small, spherical glass beads used to increase the reflection of road markings at night.
In the Drop-on method, the paint or road-marking material is first applied to the road surface. Then, Glass Beads are sprayed onto the surface. The beads become embedded in the paint, while part of each bead remains exposed above the paint surface. This exposed part allows the headlights of vehicles to enter the beads and reflect the light back toward the driver.
Therefore, in the Drop-on method, the timing of application, application rate, and the degree to which the beads are embedded in the paint are very important, as they directly affect the reflectivity and nighttime visibility of the road marking.
